Directions

This Web-Enhanced course is delivered via Blackboard. Turn on your computer's "Sound" and click on the button to learn how to use Blackboard.

Go to "Assignments: E-Learning Assessment" and complete the Blackboard Mastery quiz.

All work must be submitted in an MS Office 2000 or newer file. If you choose to use your own computer you need either a modern Windows-based or MAC G3 equivalent machine with at least 256k of memory and a printer. A high-speed Internet connection works best though it is possible to operate with a modem.

You must have access to e-mail to complete any Blackboard delivered course. When you first login to Blackboard, before you click on a course, go to "Personal Information, Edit Personal Information, E-Mail" and record your E-Mail address before you proceed. Obtain a free Yahoo E-Mail address if you do not already have an e-mail address.

Be careful if you have installed Office 2007. This new Microsoft program is not compatible with the software on most faculty computers. You MUST save your files in Office 2000 or Office 2003 format if you want your instructor to review, comment upon or grade your work. Failure to do this may result in your receiving an "F" for the assignment in question since your instructor will not be able to see what you have done.

Be careful since your instructor will not be sitting next to you when you submit assignments. You must follow directions. The following Blackboard features will make it easier for you to complete this course. Use these tools...

Saving Your Work: Protect yourself. Computers crash. Use the Communications tool to E-Mail your work to yourself.

If you are working with a team use the Communications Group File Exchange Tool to save your work where team members have access. You may also choose to e-mail your work to yourself.

Submitting Assignments: DO NOT use the Digital Dropbox to submit Assignments. Placing your work into your Digital Dropbox does not automatically make it available to your instructor. Furthermore there is no "Alert" system and your instructor may not know you have placed an Assignment there for review and comment.

Use the Communication tool to attach your documents and e-mail your work to your instructor for review, comment and grading.

You are going to learn to love this system. Meeting in class is a better way to learn. However, mastery of this system makes it possible for you to complete college courses anywhere in the world as long as you have a good high-speed Internet connection. Mastering this system makes it possible to complete a course while holding a full-time job.
