Scholarship - Exploring the Honors Study Topic

Every two years, Phi Theta Kappa selects an interdisciplinary Honors Study Topic for chapter study. "The Paradox of Affluence: Choices, Challenges, and Consequences" is our Honors Study Topic for 2008-2010 (http://www.ptk.org/honors/guide/) .  As we continue to make a difference in the world, be it large or small, we look forward to gaining strength and knowledge in scholarship.  Beta Alpha Xi will continue to grow and enhance its scholarship program to a more comprehensive level.  As we look at and try to understand our own individual choices, we finally realize the meaning of true scholarship.

As part of our continuing comprehensive scholarship program:

  • Our activities include scholarship projects, which will enhance the scholarly efforts of Beta Alpha Xi members.
  • Our scholarship projects include activities which share scholarship with the Estrella Mountain Community College student body as a whole.
  • Our activities include a scholarship outreach program to Avondale, Goodyear, Litchfield, and the West Valley, the community which Estrella Mountain Community College serves.
  • Our comprehensive scholarship program will primarily focus on our current Honors Study Topic.
