Welcome to Estrella Mountain Community College Honor Program

The Honors Program at the Estrella Mountain Community College provides intellectually stimulating learning opportunities for academically outstanding students. The features of the program include specific programs, Honors courses, Speakers Forum addressing an annual theme, scholarships, and connections with Phi Theta Kappa and Service Learning.

This year is the 22nd year for the Honors Programs within Maricopa Community Colleges. This is the 14th year for the EMCC Honors Program.  The theme for this year is Gold, Gods & Glory: The Global Dynamics of Power

Serving Estrella Mountain Community College students since the program was founded in academic year 1992-1993, the program's goals continue to be:

  • To encourage, foster and contribute to a climate of excellence both in the college and in the surrounding community;
  • To encourage students to strive to achieve the maximum benefit from the educational services provided by the Estrella Mountain Community college;
  • To recognize and reward the talent and motivation of  our outstanding community college students and faculty;
  • To promote a sense of scholarship and community among program participants;
  • To serve as a source of innovation and testing for new methodologies and services that may be extended to a greater number of students; and
  • To raise awareness of the high quality and variety of educational services offered by at Estrella Mountain Community College.
