Genesis West Program Overview

Genesis West is a program that allows non-traditional high school students to obtain a high school diploma while also earning college credit.  The program was founded in 1994 with only 19 students.  The program is a partnership with Agua Fria, Dysart, Tolleson High School Districts and Estrella Mountain Community College.

This partnership allows the high school districts to share resources with the college district, making the program cost effective.  Students accepted into the program do not pay for tuition or books.  These costs are covered by the referring high school district.

Since the inception of the program over 300 hundred students have graduated with a high school diploma; in addition many of these same students have earned an Associate of Arts Degree.

Students are fully integrated into the college environment therefore must possess the maturity and the independence to meet the challenge of being a high school student on a college campus.
