E-Learning Vision

Student success will be enhanced through a wide range of E-Learning options.

E-Learning Definition

E-Learning is an electronically supported instructional process that:

student-centered interactive learning anytime and anywhere.

Institutional E-Learning Goals

To integrate development and support of E-Learning into every division’s operation.

Continue to cultivate the appropriate environment and leadership for development, implementation, and continued support of a quality E-Learning framework.

To optimize, through the use of technology, the use of human, physical and financial resources to meet the growth demands of our service area.

To ensure a maximum interaction among students, faculty, and staff in all of EMCC’s E-Learning formats.

To ensure E-Learning options articulate with the larger academic and occupational programs of the college.

Provide interactive experiences to enhance and extend learning through the active participation of faculty and students in the E-Learning process.

Institutional Recommendations

Determine how to best organize existing college resources to meet the needs of the E-Learning programs, and recommend additional resources needed, such as faculty and staff positions.

Develop standards, processes, and college policies for E-Learning at EMCC.

Initially emphasize ‘E-Learning with high in-person interaction’ via the development of hybrid options and enhanced self-paced courses.

Clearly communicate the expectations, formats, and objectives of the E-Learning program to the student body.

Develop ways to track different forms of E-Learning through SIS.

Use pilot programs as a way to develop specific E-Learning formats.

Transition further development of the college E-Learning program from the E-Learning Task Force to the college leadership.
